PRESTONSBURG – As spring training gets underway next year, the stage of the Mountain Arts Center will be transformed into a “field of memories” as the one and only Pete Rose will bring his 4,256 hits and legendary career to the stage.
“An Evening With Pete Rose” will feature Rose, known affectionately as “Charlie Hustle”, who will share his two-man show “Pete Rose Live” with fans of all ages in Eastern Kentucky. The show is sponsored by the MAC and Appalachian Wireless.
“We are excited that Appalachian Wireless has chosen the intimate atmosphere of the Mountain Arts Center to present Pete Rose,” says Keith Caudill, executive-director of the MAC. “It is a wonderful venue to present this iconic American sports figure to Eastern Kentucky.”
Based on the award-winning documentary video “4192: The Crowning of the Hit King” this high energy show features Mr. Rose sharing funny, inside stories from his amazing career as Major League Baseball’s all time leader in base hits. The show is supported by video clips and still photography from Pete’s playing days as the captain of the famous “Big Red Machine” with the Cincinnati Reds.
“I am amazed every time we do the show at how much the fans love Pete,” says the shows co-producer Dave Wilcox. “He is truly an American treasure and the fans let him know that ever time he steps on stage.”
A few lucky fans will be able to purchase VIP pre-show, private, meet and greet tickets for fans who wish to meet Pete and to get their picture taken with “number 14″.
The show will be held April 12, from 7 to 9 p.m.. Tickets prices to attend the show as well as the meet and greet are $99. Show tickets only are $49.
