MOREHEAD — More than 100 Morehead State University alumni, current and future students and friends gathered Thursday, July 31, for the first-ever “Summer Send-Off Celebration.”

The event hosted by the offices of Enrollment Services and Alumni and Development was held at the Pikeville City Park Shelter and Gazebo.

“We were delighted with the turn out,” said Holly Pollock, director of undergraduate admissions. “Before the new Eagles come to campus, we wanted to bring together our alumni and current students to welcome the incoming students to the MSU family, and also answer last minute questions that will ease their transition to college life.”

MSU provided food, music and every new Eagle walked away with a special duffel bag.

The remaining sandwiches were donated to the Westcare Homeless Shelter in Pikeville.

There is still time for new or returning students to register for MSU’s 2014 fall academic term. Classes begin Monday, Aug. 18, at MSU or its regional campuses and registration is available online.

Additional information is available by contacting the Office of Enrollment Services at 606-783-2000 or 800-585-6781.
