SOUTH WILLIAMSON — Kentucky State Police is requesting the public’s help in solving an apparent armed robbery Sunday in Pike County.

KSP Post 9 in Pikeville responded to the call of an armed robbery at the Big Lots in South Williamson. Witnesses told police that a male entered the store and gave an employee a note stating that he had a weapon and demanding money. He never brandished the alleged weapon in question. Police say he left the store with an undisclosed amount of money.

The suspect is described as being roughly 5 feet, 8 inches tall, of medium build. He was wearing a dark green jacket, dark pants, brown jersey gloves, a dark toboggan, and sunglasses.

The case is being investigated by KSP Trooper Derek Welch.
