There is a place beyond the war … whether military battles, or life’s battles, inner woundings and hidden scars may occur.

In his new book, “War Wounded: Let the Healing Begin,” author Basil B. Clark introduces readers to some people who found their pathway to healing.

Clark will be at Readmore Bookstore, located at Glynview Plaza, in Prestonsburg, to sign copies of his book, Saturday, March 22, from 1 to 3 p.m.

Living beyond the war does not mean it is totally eliminated, Clark writes. The saying, “What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas” does not apply to inner woundings. Try as we like, these things don’t stay in Iraq, Afghanistan, Vietnam, the funeral parlor, the doctor’s office, the playground, and other places where the traumatic events occurred. Some things will never fully leave us, nor should they. As humans we aren’t constructed this way.

In his book, Clark reveals that it is through our diversity of experiences we find just how much we have in common.
