When I was a freshman in high school at Burnside years ago, they taught us that senators’ and representatives’ jobs were to sponsor bills, pass legislation and make laws. NOT make jobs. Why does our secretary of state change their job description? It’s not her place.
To prove this, we have Toyota. In 1983, Frankfort and the governor, not any senator, gave tax incentives for them to come here. So it is a Frankfort issue.
Corporations and business bring jobs. As governor in West Virginia, Joe Manchin was highly rated by Wall Street for bringing jobs to that state. Since he has been a rookie senator, he has lamented not being able to do anywhere near what he did as governor, so much so that he’s talking about running for governor again.
To vote for Mrs. Grimes is to vote for the President. This state has not voted for him, so why start now? It would be stupid to give up our position in the Senate now. They’ve said that Mitch has been a thorn in the President’s side. The thorn needs to go deeper to relieve us. To vote for her is to relieve the President, and hurt this state more.
I am a Democrat and I approve this message.
