The Bell County Sheriff’s Department arrested 12 individuals on drug trafficking charges on Thursday during a drug roundup. The majority of the drugs allegedly trafficked were prescription-type drugs, according to Bell County Sheriff Bruce Bennett. The investigation continued throughout the day as deputies continued to search for more individuals.

“We will get the others,” said Bennett.

The arrests were a direct result of months of investigation, which included undercover drug buys.

“The biggest job…is getting the evidence to arrest them (drug dealers),” said Bennett. “I’m proud of everybody who works for me. I feel good every time we take a drug dealer off the street.”

Bennett said he felt good about the 12 arrests because he knows that many drugs will not be sold to children anytime soon. He also said the war on drugs is always continuous.
