PAINTSVILLE – Big Sandy Community and Technical College, the East Kentucky Concentrated Employment Program (EKCEP), Big Sandy Area Community Action Program and Kentucky Career Center will hold a Job Fair from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Wednesday, April 30, on the Mayo campus of BSCTC.
“We are very proud to work with EKCEP, Big Sandy Community Action Program and the Kentucky Career Center to bring this job fair to the people of our region,” said Leslie Bays, a counselor at BSCTC. “We feel we have a highly-trained and skilled workforce that is ready to go to work.”
Sandy Grimm, a career advisor with Big Sandy Community Action Program, said more than 20 employers will participate in the event.
“This is a great opportunity for anyone who is seriously looking for work,” Grimm said.
“We’re thrilled that we have so many employers that are participating and actively seeking qualified workers.”
AT&T will be accepting applications and also doing on-site testing at the job fair, Grimm said. Other companies participating include: First Commonwealth Bank, Mountain Comprehensive Care Center, Manpower, Wendy’s, GMS Mine Repair, Wells Group, Gearheart Communications and Lowes of Paintsville.
“We feel this is a diverse group of employers,” added Grimm. “Our staff is working on contacting more employers each day.”
