PRESTONSBURG — A Pike County sex offender was arrested last week, after failing to update the state Sex Offender Registry with his current address in Floyd County.

Barry Robinson, 48, had allegedly been living in Floyd County, even though his address with the registry was still listed as Pikeville. He was charged with a felony count of failure to comply with sex offender registration.

Robinson is under a lifetime commitment to maintain his registration, after being convicted in 2004 of 40 counts of receiving child pornography.

According to the Sex Offender Registry, Robison is also known to use the aliases “Allen Robinson” and “Barry A. Robinson.”

District Judge Jimmy Marcum ordered Robinson to be placed under home incarceration and monitoring. He is next scheduled to appear in court May 7, for arraignment.

The charge is not the first time Robinson has been accused of violating the terms of his release. In February 2013, he was found to have changed his address without notifying authorities, missed two session of his sex offender treatment program, and tested positive for marijuana. He was subsequently ordered to complete a substance abuse program.
