HAGER HILL - Horsepower returned to Combs Airport on Saturday as Mr. Horsepower Kent Rose oversaw the Hillbilly Arm Drop Drags Test & Tune. Over 90 drag racers piloted cars during the all-day session held over the weekend.

“Considering that we had the UK ballgame that night and the weather how it was, with over 90 cars and an estimated 500 people in attendance, we thought we had a good turnout,” Rose said. “It went very smooth. We were able to run almost non-stop until dark.”

In addition to racing competitors from across Kentucky, the test session attracted one driver from New York and multiple racers from the neighboring states of West Virginia and Virginia.

Legendary drag racer Willard Kinzer was among those in attendance at the Hillbilly Arm Drop Drags event.

Rose continues to promote the Hillbilly Arm Drop Drags Spring Race, which will be held May 2-3 at Combs Airport. The fan-friendly event will once again include giveaways of a Honda 50, 100 Big Wheels, hundreds of Hot Wheels and coloring bags. Honda of Prestonsburg (Honda 50), Attorney/Candidate for Circuit Judge Mickey McGuire (Big Wheels), Prestonsburg Wal-Mart (Hot Wheels) and Citizens National Bank (coloring bags) are all sponsoring items to be given away to young racing fans during the May event.

Shirt Gallery (www.shirtgallery.net) is the official apparel provider for the Hillbilly Arm Drop Drags.

Rose has upcoming appearances set for Speed Scene Live (April 15) and The Sam Auxier Jr. Show (April 28). His official website - www.armdropguy.com - includes updates for the Hillbilly Arm Drop Drags and his appearances.
