SOFT SHELL - With its regular high school season over, the Weslesy Christian High School boys’ basketball team returned to the court over the weekend. Faring well in its return to action, Wesley Christian won the Kentucky BCI March Madness Tournament held at the Knott County Sportsplex on Saturday and Sunday.

Wesley Christian won all three of its games by an average of 35 points. The Raiders defeated Estill County 77-23, topped the East Kentucky Flames 73-58 and pulled away to beat the Pike County Elite 90-56.

“We played really well during this event,” stated Wesley Christian Coach Jack Jarrell. “We didn’t want to take a very long break before kicking off our summer program and this was a good way to get it started. We’ve got a busy summer schedule worked out that will see us play a couple weekends a month - either at the Knott County Sportsplex or at the Kentucky Basketball Academy in Lexington in AAU-sanctioned events as well at the University of Pikeville Team Camp.”
