The adoption option

March 6, 2014

Precious little ones are being brutally ripped from their only temporary homes. Actually, since 1973, 56 million-plus have fallen victim to their mother’s choice.

How callous of a nation have we become? We are so preoccupied with ourselves that we refuse to give up only nine months of our lives, to allow our children whole lifetimes. This reaches beyond narcissism. Paying a hitman (a.k.a., abortionist) to murder your own children, only so we can live as we please, is disgusting.

However, there is another option — adoption. The National Council for Adoption estimates that, each year, 1.3 million couples are eagerly awaiting to adopt a child. Yet, every year, 1.2 million children are brutally, electively murdered. It is an outrage that there are more “potential” parents-to-be longing to love and raise a child, than there are actual parents-to-be longing to destroy their child.

Adoption is a truly selfless, loving choice. And, yes, it is painful to carry your child to term and give him to his adoptive parents. But unlike abortion, you can walk away with your head held high. You allowed your child’s life to continue, and you made his parents’ dream come true — a child to love, a complete family.

Please encourage women who have found themselves in a crisis pregnancy to either parent or adopt her child. At minimum, give her this number. They can help with these difficult choices and provide resources: Care-Net, (800) 395-HELP. Or visit www.care-net.org. Locally, you can call the Appalachian Pregnancy Care Center at (606) 433-0700 or visit them online at www.appalachianpregnancycarecenter.com.
