OWENSBORO - Alice Lloyd fell short in its bid to return to the win column on Tuesday night as host Brescia pulled out a hard-fought 68-60 win on its home floor.
Brescia improved to 11-8 overall and 5-4 in the KIAC after posting the win.
With the loss, Alice Lloyd dropped to 10-9 overall and 5-4 in the KIAC.
The Bearcats dominated on the boards, outrebounding Alice Lloyd 53-29.
Brescia outscored Alice Lloyd in each half. The Bearcats led 33-27 at halftime.
Brescia shot 76 percent (19 of 25) from the foul line and finished with 12 assists opposed to only 10 turnovers.
Jermain Langley led a balanced Brescia scoring effort with 20 points.
Austin Morris registered a double-double, scoring 16 points and pulling down 11 rebounds for the Bearcats.
Joining Langley and Austin Morris in double figures, Decarlos Collier contributed 12 points for the Brescia men’s basketball team.
Knott County Central High School graduate Stuart Stamper led Alice Lloyd with a game-high 26 points.
The Eagles shot 42.9 percent (24 of 56) from the field but were only two of 12 from 3-point range.
Alice Lloyd shot 71.4 percent (10 of 14) from the foul line.
The Eagles struggled around their own backboard, claiming only four offensive rebounds.
Alice Lloyd committed 14 turnovers in the loss.
