PRESTONSBURG – A four-year veteran of the Junior Pros, and in her first season with the main Opry group, Haley Sullivan, continues to wow audiences during the Billie Jean Osborne’s Kentucky Opry Christmas.
Haley, a 17-year-old student at East Ridge High School, says she has been singing and playing music with her family since she was a little girl.
“I have been singing/playing music since I was 4 years old,” says Haley. “My entire family is musical so it’s what I’ve grew up around. I was bound to inherit some sort of musical talent.”
Haley began studying piano under the tutelage of Sherry Meek when she wa 5, and now studies under Jennifer Bersaglia. Since then, she has picked up eight different instruments, and gives guitar lessons herself.
Haley is the daughter of Stewart and Tammie Sullivan of Phyllis and says she loves playing with the opry groups.
“My favorite part about being in the Junior Pros is how much it teaches me. I get to play music and perform on a regular basis with people my age and we all learn so much from each other.”
Haley says that performing with the Junior Pros has made her a stronger musician; something for which she will always be grateful.
In 2009 Haley performed with Halfway to Hazard Charity trail Ride, opening up for Tim McGraw, and Djerks Bentley.
Haley is a 4.0 student, and is planning to attend Belmont University in Nashville, Tenn. After graduation with the hopes of studying music business and commercial music.
Haley will join the rest of the Junior Pros on stage this weekend for the final performances of Billie Jean Osborne’s Kentucky Opry Christmas. Having received fantastic praise in and out of the community, this is one show you don’t want to miss.
