WILLIAMSON, W.Va. — A Floyd County teen is the latest musical entertainer to sign with Lyricks’s Promotions Ltd., a local company that also has an office in Nashville, Tenn., owned and operated by John Carlin.

Casey Lyn Tackett is a 13-year-old seventh-grader who attends South Floyd Middle School and lives in Hi Hat. Since she began actively pursuing her dream three years ago at the tender age of 10, Casey has dedicated tremendous time and effort toward achieving her goal.

Casey said that singing, playing the guitar and composing lyrics is what she loves to do, and she feels that if she sticks with her plan and pays her dues, she will reap the rewards.

“I love to sing and play the guitar,” Casey said. “It’s what I love. It’s what makes me happy. I feel this is what my life is meant to be.”

Casey is partial to country music when she performs in front of an audience, and said that her musical idol is Miranda Lambert. When asked why Lambert stands out to her, Casey said she loves the sound of Lambert’s voice and that she has her own vocal style.

Casey is the daughter of Doug and Rebecca Tackett and has an 8-year-old brother, Caleb. Her family fully supports the young entertainer in her journey toward stardom and described how proud they are of her accomplishments to this point, including her placement in the Battle of the Bands Competition and the Lyrick’s Promotions Talent Quest.

“I want to make it big; I want it all,” Casey said. “I know it’s not going to be easy to get there, but I’m willing to sacrifice whatever I have to, so I can see my dreams come true.”

Future engagements for Casey will be announced as they become available. She said she is looking forward to meeting new people and visiting new places as her career unwinds.

“I’m very excited to perform in front of people that haven’t heard me sing, and I hope they will continue to follow my journey toward the bright lights of Nashville, where I hope to one day perform in front of thousands,” the teen said.
