EASTERN — A wave of armed robberies throughout the region continued over the weekend, with an Eastern convenience store the latest target.
Kentucky State Police received a report of an armed robbery at 10:29 p.m., Saturday, at the Fast Lane convenience store on Route 80.
Police at the scene discovered that two men entered the business, brandishing weapons and demanding money. After obtaining an undisclosed amount of cash and cigarettes, the men fled the scene on foot.
No description of the men has been released by police.
Fast Lane manager Dava Gibson said Tuesday that the company had no comment on the incident.
“We’re just glad that nobody was hurt,” Gibson said.
