Betsy Layne boys, girls in Fast Lane Classic

LOUISA - The 15th Annual Fast Lane Classic will be held at Lawrence County High School on Saturday, Nov. 30 and the Betsy Layne Bobcats and Ladycats will be in attendance. This year’s Fast Lane Classic, which is being played in Lawrence County after Sheldon Clark High School’s gym was unable to host the event, will feature seven games.

Six high school basketball games will follow a middle school game between Martin County and Louisa in the Fast Lane Classic.

The Betsy Layne boys’ and girls’ basketball teams will play in back-to-back games. In the second game of the day, the Betsy Layne Ladycats will face the Sheldon Clark Lady Cardinals. Tip-off for the Betsy Layne-Sheldon Clark girls’ basketball game is set for 11:30 a.m.

In a battle of former All “A” Classic boys’ basketball champions, Betsy Layne will meet Hazard in the third game of the tradition-rich high school basketball event.

Other boys’ high school basketball teams set to play in the Fast Lane Classic are Johnson Central, Louisville Trinity, Louisville Ballard, Covington Holmes, Lawrence County, Fleming County, Sheldon Clark and Tug Valley, W.Va..

High school basketball teams throughout the state will make 2013-14 debuts in early-December.

1: 15 p.m. - Hazard vs. Betsy Layne (Boys)

3 p.m. - Johnson Central vs. Louisville Trinity (Boys)

4: 45 p.m. - Louisville Ballard vs. Covington Holmes (Boys)

6: 30 p.m. - Lawrence County vs. Fleming County (Boys)

8: 15 p.m. - Sheldon Clark vs. Tug Valley, W.Va. (Boys)
