MOREHEAD - The Morehead State University men’s basketball team will open its 2013-14 regular-season schedule on Saturday when Mid-Continent (Ky.) visits Johnson Arena. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m..
The Eagles finished 15-18 overall and 8-8 in the Ohio Valley Conference (OVC) last season. The NAIA Cougars closed out the campaign with an 18-14 overall record and 5-5 mark in the American Midwest Conference.
MCU suffered a 106-63 setback to IU-Southeast in its season opener and dropped a 99-58 decision to Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) on Tuesday. MSU rolled to a 107-85 victory over St. Catharine (Ky.) in its lone exhibition game.
Morehead State owns a 1-0 advantage in the all-time series against Mid-Continent after an 83-57 win on Dec. 4, 2011.
Reserved seats are $14, while general-admission tickets are $8 and children 12-and-under are just $3. MSU students are admitted free with a valid student ID. Parking is $5 per vehicle.
MSU Women: The Morehead State University women’s basketball program is ready to begin the 2013-14 season with a special Noon game against visiting Norfolk State on Friday at Johnson Arena.
The contest will be among the earliest Division I games in the nation. There is one 11 a.m. ET tip time, two 11:30 a.m. games and seven Noon contests.
Children, teachers and administrators from the Rowan Country School System will be guests of the athletic department at the game. Adult tickets are just $5 and can be purchased here. Parking is free.
The Spartans were 7-22 a season ago and 4-12 in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference. NSU defeated Virginia Wesleyan, 104-67, in its lone exhibition game Monday. Morehead State has only faced NSU once, collecting a 75-60 win during the 2010-11 season.
