BETSY LAYNE — A Michigan man was killed Friday morning, as he traveled through Floyd County on U.S. 23.
According to Kentucky State Police, George Stapleton, 75, of Sterling Heights, Mich., was driving south on U.S. 23, when he lost control of his vehicle. His car crossed the media and both northbound lanes, before striking an earth embankment.
Floyd County Coroner Greg Nelson pronounced Stapleton dead at the scene of the accident.
The accident remains under investigation by KSP Trooper Brad Hamilton.
