Justice wins KPGA Tournament Series Championship

GOSHEN - The final round of the KPGA Tournament Series Championship on Tuesday, Oct. 22 began with a 30 minute frost delay but gave way to a beautiful day for the KPGA professionals to vie for their final point standings at Harmony Landing Country Club. In the end, Pikeville native Grover Justice claimed the title. The greens, which were estimated to be rolling at about a 13, continued to be the talk of the 42 participants. PGA Host Professional Mike Thomas and the staff at Harmony Landing worked hard to ensure the participating golfers an excellent championship venue.

Kirk Schooley was awarded first as the Low Senior Professional. The PGA Professional at Juniper Hill Golf Course had a two day total of 149. He edged out Lindsey Golf Course PGA Professional, Steve Cox, by three shots and PGA Professional at Southern Sports, Eddie Mudd by four shots.

Keene Run Golf Club’s Justice continued to impress during the final round with a follow up 66 to match his first round score to become the 2013 Champion. His round was bogey free and featured five birdies. He finished eight shots ahead of Big Spring Country Club PGA Professional, John Bachman who fired a bogey free round of 68 and a two day total of 140. New father, Blake Watts, finished third with a two-over-par 144 total.
