Arm Drop Drags returning to Combs Airport

HAGER HILL - Drag racing will return to the area this weekend. The Pop’s Chevrolet Hillbilly Arm Drop Drags will host the Ghouls, Goblins & Gearheads event on Saturday at Combs Airport in Hager Hill.

Combs Airport, which is located on Rt. 321 between Prestonsburg and Paintsville, serves as the host site for the Arm Drop Drags, an event under the direction of Arm Drop Guy Kent Rose. Drivers who come out for the local drag racing event on Saturday will have an opportunity to test and tune or grudge race.

The Pop’s Chevrolet Hillbilly Arm Drop Drags, a local drag racing event which was featured as one of the “Top 5 Drag Strips” in the August 2013 edition of Hot Rod Magazine, attracts racers from throughout the nation. Earlier in the year, the Pop’s Chevrolet Hillbilly Arm Drop Drags held a pair of multi-day drag racing events at Combs Airport.

Every driver in the Pop’s Chevrolet Arm Drop Drags must wear a DOT approved helmet.

The Arm Drop Drags, a division of Prestonsburg Motorsports and a Prestonsburg/Paintsville event, offers something for everyone.

General admission for the upcoming Arm Drop Drags event is $5. Children ages 12 and under will be admitted free.

The children in attendance will also have an opportunity to trick or treat.

For $20, racers will have an opportunity to race all day.
