“Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding.
Exalt her, and she shall promote thee: she shall bring thee to honour, when thou doest embrance her” (Proverbs 6:7-8).
We live in a time that our life seems like we are in a race whether it be at school, or in the work force. People are revving their mental engines in hopes of getting ahead. But the problem in some circumstances can drive us off our course of life. The next thing we notice is that we have fallen behind, and when this happens people will be destined to remain there. This is what God doesn’t want us to do. Some people don’t understand that the Bible is also a handbook for living. The Bible is about the Wisdom of God Almighty written down for us, so we can apply it to your lives and any other circumstances which is in your live.
The first thing we must do if we are going to have victory in our life is that we need to be consistently reading of the Word of God, and apply the Bible to our lives. The Word will turn you into a winner, not just now and then, but every day in every single area of our lives. That sounds too good to be true.
Proverbs 4:7-8, which we have just read, tells us that the Word is Wisdom. The prize of Wisdom will exalt itself and it will exalt and promote us, and Wisdom will bring us to honor. This is what we want to embrance This promise will not help those who wants to dab a little of the Word to their lives when we get into a scape. This Proverbs is for those who are willing to put the Word of God in first place in their lives every day.
Godly Wisdom is the principal thing. “Principal” means, “first and of most importance. We must make God’s Word the most important in our lives. Instead of being contented with an occasional scanning of the Word, we are going to have to develop a passion for the scriptures. We need to highly prize the Word of God by putting it first in our daily life before all we do our daily actuates. God promises that if we study the Word it will exalt us: promote us, and bring us victory.
There are two practical ways to give the Word first place.
1. Plan your daily schedule around the Word instead of trying to squeeze the Word into your daily schedule.
Let me warn you right now, we will never get around to the Word if we wait until you have time. Satan will see to it that we never have time. He is vehemently opposed to your feeding on God’s Word. So, learn to set aside the less important thing, like reading the newspaper or whatever. “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you” (Matthew 6:33).
Satan will steal the time from us. He will use everything from television to other activities to lure us away from God’s wisdom. This time of the year is the best weapon he has. It is to nice to stay in.
2. The next plan is to give God’s Word priority in our lives; by acting on the Word. What do I mean? It simply means we have to put the knowledge to work in our lives before it’s going to bring results. I can sit down knowing how to turn on the light all night, but until I apply that knowledge by getting up and flipping the switch on, I’ll be in the dark.
So the Word of God works the same way. As soon as we learn something we should take action, and “DO IT!”
Then we will see the wisdom of God produce results in our lives. “She is more precious than rubies: and all the things thou canst desire are not to be compared unto her” (Proverbs 3:15).
Start today and see what will happen. You will say to ourselves, “Why didn’t I do this before?” You will notice a wonderful moving in your daily life.
