From Bristol to Indy: Kinzer wins back-to-back Power Hour races, captures Wally

ALLEN - Willard Kinzer is still winning in the highly-competitive sport of drag racing. Kinzer wrapped up the Bristol Street Fight Series with two wins on Saturday, Oct. 5 and won his first Wally of the 2013 season at Indianapolis this past weekend.

The 85-year-old Kinzer won back-to-back Power Hour races in his Twin Turbo Corvette at Bristol Dragway on Saturday, Oct 5.

Racing in the NMCA series 10.5 Super Street at Indianapolis over the weekend, Kinzer won the fifth Wally of his career, wrapping up the 2013 season with a big win. He had a best MPH of 241.20 through the quarter-mile. His best time was 6.57 seconds through the quarter-mile. Kinzer was racing his 1989 Twin Turbo Ford Mustang at the Indiana track.

With the season-ending race just a few days old, Kinzer is already looking forward to the 2014 season. His crew is comprised of Gary and Sharon Hostetter, Reggie Caudill, Steve Blackburn, James Slone, Jeff Lutz, Bob Perrine and Jim Key. Kinzer was also joined in the winner’s circle by his son, Terry Kinzer.
