LOUISA - The Prestonsburg Lady Blackcats had a five-game winning streak snapped Tuesday evening at Lawrence County. Host Lawrence County pulled away to beat the Lady Blackcats convincingly as the two 15th Region girls’ soccer teams met in the Bulldog Classic, winning 10-1.

The reigning 15th Region champion, Lawrence County improved to 8-4-0 after posting the win. The Lady Bulldogs halted a three-game skid and dealt Prestonsburg only its second loss in the 2013 season.

Prestonsburg slipped to 8-2-0 after suffering the setback.

Jackie Kidd scored Prestonsburg’s only goal in the loss. Carly Burchett recorded an assist off Kidd’s goal.

Prestonsburg was visiting Belfry at press time on Thursday evening. The Prestonsburg-Belfry girls’ soccer match ended too late to make this edition.
