EASTERN - The Betsy Layne Bobcats turned in another dominant performance on Friday night, defeating Floyd County rival Allen Central 40-0 in a non-district game at Don Daniels Field.

Former district foes, Betsy Layne and Allen Central meet on the Rebels’ home field during their latest matchup in a long-standing gridiron rivalry.

Betsy Layne moved to 3-0 after posting its second straight win.

In three outings, Betsy Layne has outscored a trio of opponents 149-6.

Allen Central suffered its second shutout loss in four outings, falling to 1-3.

Opponents have outscored the Rebels 135-42.

“It was a great game,” Betsy Layne Coach Jon Parsons commented. “Allen Central came with a great game plan. It’s great to get a win and lose the turnover battle.”

The Betsy Layne offense did most of its damage through the air. Senior quarterback Dylan Hamilton completed 13 of 19 passes for 337 yards and four touchdowns. Peyton Case complimented the Betsy Layne aerial attack as he completed one of three passes for 23 yards.

Lako Daniels hauled in four pass receptions for 160 yards and two touchdowns.

Case reeled in three catches for 122 yards and two scores.

Dustin Rogers added three receptions for 48 yards.

Houston Hall led Betsy Layne on the ground, rushing nine times for 60 yards. Murphy picked up 35 yards via five carries.

Case added a four-yard scoring run for the Bobcats.

Hall led the Betsy Layne defense with 12 tackles. Hamilton and Murphy added nine tackles apiece for the Bobcats. Aiding the Betsy Layne defensive effort, Daniels contributed eight tackles for the Bobcats.

Both Betsy Layne and Allen Central are due back in action this week. The Bobcats will host Knott County Central while Allen Central entertains Paintsville.
