EASTERN - The Allen Central Rebels slipped back into the loss column on Friday night, falling to Magoffin County. Visiting Magoffin County, under the direction of first-year head coach Scotty McCoy, defeated the Rebels 48-8.
Magoffin County moved to 2-1 after posting the win.
Allen Central dropped to 1-2 as a result of the loss.
Senior running backs Matt Patton and Clay Elam led Magoffin County on the ground. Patton rushed 11 times for 120 yards and one touchdown. Elam carried the football 16 times for 107 yards and two touchdowns.
Magoffin County junior quarterback Ryan Jenkins completed six of nine passes for 130 yards and three touchdowns. He completed passes to three different receivers.
Jenkins also rushed four times for 32 yards and a touchdown.
Kris Burton led Magoffin County in receiving. Burton reeled in three receptions for 90 yards and a touchdown. Dalton Keeton added two catches for 20 yards and one score. Patton added one catch for a 20-yard touchdown in Magoffin County’s victory.
Freshman Freshman Brown scored Allen Central’s lone touchdown. Sophomore Steven Bentley added the conversion for the Rebels.
