PRESTONSBURG — More than 20 teams participated in the recent Floyd County Chamber of Commerce golf scramble, but it was the team from VanArk Behavioral Management that captured first place.
The Floyd County Chamber of Commerce held its annual golf scramble on Aug. 15, at StoneCrest Golf Course in Prestonsburg. Dozens of teams competed in this years tournament.
The foursome of Bill Greer, Ryan Martin, Brandon Kinzer and Oliver Blankenship from VanArk Behavioral Management captured first place with a score of 55. Playing for Branch Banking & Trust (BB&T) was Chuck Griffith, Brent Lee, Mike Shortt and Benji Dean who came in second with a score of 56. Third place honors went to Prestonsburg Tourism with a score of 57. Team members included John Heinze, Larry Woods, Shane Simpkins and Jimmy Blackburn.
“This year’s golf scramble was a tremendous success. We had great weather, incredible support from our sponsors and the community and look forward to working with everyone throughout the year,” stated Chamber executive director Kathy Allen.
