Students in Floyd County will return to their desks Tuesday, as school resumes that day for students in kindergarten through high school.
Class will begin and end on the same schedule as last year, with classes running from 8 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. for elementary schools, and from 8:15 a.m. to 3 p.m. for middle and high schools, as well as Renaissance Learning Center.
Head Start and preschool classes will resume Aug. 12.
Schools will also continue to participate in the Community Eligibility Option, which provides free breakfast and lunch for every student in the school system.
“We’re excited to be able to offer this wonderful program for the third year in a row and want to truly thank all our staff members who have made this program work so well in Floyd County Schools,” Supt. Henry Webb said. “Most importantly, we’re pleased to know that every kid will continue to be able to eat at least two meals every day that school is in session in Floyd County.”
