PRESTONSBURG — One of Kentucky State Police’s most wanted is behind bars, after being arrested Wednesday afternoon in Prestonsburg.
Officials with the Prestonsburg Police Department and the Floyd County Detention Center have confirmed that Earl Ray Slone, 56, of Falmouth, has been arrested. Slone has been listed on the KSP Post 6 Most Wanted list.
“Our investigator received information earlier this week on Earl slone through the course of another investigation,” said Allison Martin, Communications Director for the Attorney General’s office. “When he tried to apprehend Slone earlier this week, he took off on foot, and the investigator was unable to apprehend him.”
Martin says that tips eventually led investigators back to Slone, who was found and apprehended hiding in the woods.
In April 2012, Slone was indicted on one count of tampering with physical evidence, and was indicted again in July on a charge of complicity to fraudulent use of a credit card.
Slone, who was described by KSP as a white male, 5 feet 8 inches tall, and approximately 185 pounds, was arrested Wednesday in a joint effort by the agents from the Attorney General’s office and the Prestonsburg Police Department.
According to records, Slone is is formerly of David.
Slone is currently being held in the Floyd County Detention Center.
