BRISTOL, Tenn. - Legendary drag racer Willard Kinzer, 85, picked up another victory at Thunder Valley on Thursday, winning in the Street Fights presented by ZRock. Kinzer, an accomplished drag racer who has won races across the nation, continues to win against competitors that are half or even quarter his age.
Street Fights presented by ZRock is comprised of 15 Street Fights events held at the famed Bristol Dragway. The season opener was held in late-March and the majority of events take place on Thursday evenings, with selected Saturday events.
On Saturday, Kinzer attended the Pop’s Chevrolet Hillbilly Arm Drop Drags’ All Day Mayhem event at Paintsville-Prestonsburg Combs Field Airport. All Day Mayhem offered drag racers from throughout Eastern Kentucky an opportunity to test and tune and compete in grudge races.
When Kinzer raced at the Pop’s Chevrolet Hillbilly Arm Drop Drags in May, he was quick to compliment how the cities of Prestonsburg and Paintsville had collaborated to make the event such a success.
“This is a great event,” Kinzer said, prior to racing in the Pop’s Chevrolet Hillbilly Arm Drop Drags. “This event has really brought the cities of Prestonsburg and Paintsville together.”
Willard Kinzer is an ambassador for the sport of drag racing and he isn’t slowing down.
