Martha Jane Porter, age 86 of Allen, wife of the late Paul Fayburn Porter, passed away Wednesday, June 19, 2013, at Pikeville Medical Center.


She was born Dec. 16, 1926, in Emma, a daughter of the late Kelly and Alice Mosley Kendrick. She was a homemaker, a member of the Eastern Star, and a member of the First Baptist Church of Allen.


Martha Jane is survived by a son, Paul Douglas (Denise Ousley) Porter (former daughters-in-law, Sandy Miller and Renee Holbrook), of Allen; a daughter, Linda L. (Virgil A.) Conn, of Allen; a son-in-law, Patrick Terry; a daughter-in-law, Phyllis Leslie Porter; special friend to family, Chris Waugh; two sisters, Bernice Marshall, of Huntington, W.Va., and Hersie Cole, of Ashland; 11 grandchildren, Frank (Cindy) Porter, Mary Hopkins, Kevin (Kristen) Porter, Angela (Tony) Skaggs, Michelle (Thomas) Rainey, Scott (Tonya) Porter, Dustin (Melinda) Porter, Shawn Porter, Patrick Porter, Emily Terry and Parker Terry; and 13 great grandchildren. Martha Jane will also be missed by many close friends and extended family members.


In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, James Lacey Porter; a daughter, Paula Jane Porter Terry; two brothers, Russell Kendrick and Gene Kendrick; and a sister, Margaret Porter.


Funeral services for Martha Jane Porter will be held at 3 p.m., Friday, June 21, in the Hall Funeral Home Chapel, in Martin, with Earl Waugh officiating. Burial will follow in the Grace Allen Webb Cemetery, in Allen.


Visitation will be held after 5 p.m., Thursday, at the funeral home.
