PRESTONSBURG - Area youth football players will have an opportunity to receive instruction from multiple NFL veterans during a youth football camp this weekend. Former Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver/kick returner Glenn Holt will host the Highest Level Football Camp at Prestonsburg High School on Saturday from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. The youth football camp is for players ages 5-18.
Holt ranks as the second-leading kick returner in Bengals history. During an NFL regular-season game versus the Buffalo Bills, Holt returned a kick 100 yards for a touchdown. The 100-yard kickoff return for a touchdown ranks as the second-longest in Bengals history.
Prior to playing for the Bengals in the NFL, Holt was named Kentucky’s Team MVP.
After his playing career was over, Holt returned to his alma mater, joining the Kentucky football program’s coaching staff. He currently resides in Miami.
Among the other instructors will be former Kentucky Wildcat and NFL player Johnny Williams (Jacksonville Jaguars, Denver Broncos) and Virginia Tech Hokie and NFL player Justin Hamilton (Cleveland Browns, Washington Redskins).
Cost of the camp is $65 and includes lunch, a T-shirt and certificate.
Campers will be grouped according to ages and have an opportunity to compete for awards in various competitions.
Football fundamentals will be covered throughout the camp, which will also feature additional staff and guest speakers.
An additional registration for the Highest Level Football Camp will be held on Saturday morning, beginning at 8 a.m. For more information on the camp, call 606-339-5948 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
