Garnett Louise Cox Moore, age 89, of Martin, widow of Ernest Clinton “EC” Moore, died Saturday, June 1, 2013, in the McDowell Appalachian Regional Hospital.
She was born Dec. 5, 1923, at Garrett, a daughter of the late Melvin and Rosha Martin Cox. Garnett was a former owner of the Beaver Valley Lumber Company, in Martin, and a retired school teacher in Floyd County, a member of the Kentucky Retired Teachers Association, and member of the Old Regular Baptist Church.
She is survived by two nephews, Blaine Cox, of Corbin, and Robert Boggs, of Leitchfield, and one neice, Sharon Boggs, of Hindman.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Wayne Cox, and a sister, Madge Boggs.
Funeral services for Garnett Louise Cox Moore will be conducted at 1 p.m., Tuesday, June 4, in the Hall Funeral Home Chapel, in Martin, with Max Slone officiating. Burial will follow in the Martin Cemetery, at Eastern, with the Hall Funeral Home caring for those arrangements.
