STANVILLE — Charles Ramsey’s bravery and personality thrust him into the national spotlight earlier this month, after he helped three women and a 6-year-old girl escape from their kidnapper.

Local attorney Eric C. Conn says Ramsey is a “national hero,” and he is bringing him to Floyd County, to meet well-wishers Friday afternoon.

Ramsey will appear at Conn’s law office from noon until 2 p.m., Friday, May 24. Burgers and refreshments will be served to all guests.

Ramsey, a Cleveland dishwasher, helped Amanda Berry, Gina DeJesus, Michelle Knight and the young girl escape from the home of Ariel Castro, who allegedly abducted the three women and held them captive for up to a decade.
