PIKEVILLE – A senior from Wesley Christian High School has signed a scholarship agreement with the University of Pikeville.
Kaitlyn Coleman is a senior at the school and will join the women’s basketball program at UPike in the fall.
Coleman is a 5-5 guard at the Allen school who averaged 7.8 points and 8.6 rebounds per game as a senior. As a junior, she tossed in 12.6 points and pulled down 9.2 rebounds per game.
Coleman also averaged 1.8 steals and 1.3 assists per game this season for Wesley Christian.
In addition to her basketball abilities, Coleman is active with Disciples for Life, an organization that helps raise money for the Salvation Army. In addition, she is active with Relay for Life.
Founded in 1998, Wesley Christian School has provided a quality Christian education to students in Floyd, Pike and surrounding counties. It offers education to students from preschool age through high school. It believes that academics are only one component of a child’s education to provide them with the tools to function effectively in the world that awaits them. Students are educated for meaningful Christian life and service, and are encouraged to set high goals for their future through the encouragement of Biblical principles.
