LOUISVILLE - Mid-South Conference regular-season champions Cumberland is the top-seed in the 2013 Mid-South Conference Baseball Tournament. Conference officials released the eight-team, double-elimination bracket on Sunday, following regular-season finales.
The top-seeded Bulldogs (37-15-1, 19-2 in the Mid-South) open the tournament at 10 a.m. ET on Thursday against No. 8-seed Shawnee State (29-25, 9-15).
The entire tournament will be played at tradition-rich Hunter Wright Stadium in Kingsport, Tenn.
The Cumberland-Shawnee State game is the first of four games on Thursday.
Fourth-seeded Campbellsville (27-17, 11-10) will face fifth-seeded Rio Grande (32-18, 12-11) at 1 p.m. ET followed by No. 3-seed Lindsey Wilson (38-16, 16-7) and sixth-seeded Cumberlands (33-18, 10-11) at 4 p.m. ET.
Second-seeded Georgetown (33-15, 18-6) plays No. 7-seed St. Catharine (36-18, 10-11) in the nightcap at 7 p.m. ET.
Four games are scheduled for Friday and Saturday with the tournament slated to conclude on Sunday, April 28.
