PIPPA PASSES - The Alice Lloyd College softball team battled IU Southeast in a two-game series over weekend. Here’s a look back at the KIAC softball contests.
GAME 1 - IUS 9, ALC 0: IU Southeast excelled early in the first game, scoring one run in the first inning and eight in the second. ALC wasn’t able to get much going offensively, finishing with just three hits.
Taylor Short, Kayla Stambaugh and Kristin Fields had one hit apiece for the Lady Eagles.
GAME 2 - IUS 3, ALC 2: The second game of the series was a close contest. IUS got going offensively in the third inning with two runs. Alice Lloyd, however, managed to get one of those runs back in the sixth inning.
The Lady Grenadiers earned an insurance run in the top of the seventh inning and that turned out to be the difference as Alice Lloyd could only get one run across for the rest of the game.
Shayla Brinegar and Jerrica Young each had an RBI for the Lady Eagles.
