Alvin Joe Goble, age 77, of Tram, died Monday, March 4, 2013, in Pikeville.
Joe was born Jan. 23, 1936, to the late High T. and Daisy B. Scalf Goble. He was a logger with the John’s Creek Sawmill.
He is survived by his wife, Rosie Boyd Goble; a son, Carl “CJ the DJ” Jarrell Jr., of Tram; a brother, Jim Jack Goble, of Danville; seven sisters, Margie Kay May, of Pikeville, Mollie Hall, of Danville, Mary Lowe, of Boldman, Cleo Lowe, of Pikeville, Alvanell Hall, of Lowmansville, Margaret Hite, of Pikeville, and Mary Sue Blevins, of Tram; and a granddaughter, Madison Cheyene Jarrell, of Flat Gap.
Visitation was Wednesday, March 6, from 2 to 10 p.m., and Thursday, March 7, from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., at the Riverside Baptist Church, at Tram. Funeral services were held at noon, Friday, at Riverside Baptist Church, with Clyde Hancock and Curt Jarvis officiating. Burial followed in the Kidd Cemetery, at Dana.
