PRESTONSBURG - Kent Rose, Event Coordinator of the 2013 Pop’s Chevrolet Hillbilly Arm Drop Drags, continues to promote the May 10-11 event. Rose is currently in Minnesota. He is busy meeting with potential race sponsor RaceCraft, a company headquartered in Madison Lake, Minn.
The past two weeks-plus has brought the event even more momentum. Dyer Drug, located in Albany (Ky.), recently signed on as a sponsor. Paintsville Tourism, during its meeting held earlier in the week, also signed back on as a sponsor with the Arm Drop Drags.
Still, sponsorship opportunities remain available.
“We continue to build momentum for the Pop’s Chevrolet Hillbilly Arm Drop Drags,” Rose said Wednesday, via phone. “We expect 300 race cars and over 10,000 spectators and those numbers could grow to be much bigger. Sponsorships are going fast but we still have some available.”
Sponsorships are available by contacting Rose or any member of the Pop’s Chevrolet Hillbilly Arm Drop Drags board.
Admission for the Hillbilly Arm Drop Drags is $10 per spectator; $15 per pit pass and $35 per racer. Kids 12 and under will be admitted free.
Area coal miners who have lost their job and show a miner’s card will be able to race for free.
