LOUISA - The Allen Central Rebels fell to much-improved Lawrence County Friday night. Host Lawrence County doubled up Allen Central on Senior Night, defeating the Rebels 82-41.
The Bulldogs shot 49.2 percent (31-of-63) from the field. Lawrence County was seven-of-16 (43.8 percent) from 3-point range.
The Bulldogs also did some damage from the free throw line, finishing 13-of-18 (72.2 percent).
Robert Dalton led Lawrence County with a game-high 21 points. Lawrence County featured four different scorers in double figures. Blake Prince scored 13 points, Brandon Richardson tossed in 12 and Grant Kiser contributed 10 for the Bulldogs.
Lawrence County notched its sixth straight win, improving to 19-10.
With the loss, Allen Central slipped to 5-23. Allen Central packed a 12-game losing streak out of the regular-season.
Lawrence County outscored the Rebels 30-7 in the first quarter and carried a comfortable 45-20 lead into halftime.
The Bulldogs stretched their lead over Allen Central in the third quarter, outscoring the Rebels 23-9.
Only four Allen Central players dented the scoring column. Senior forward Josh Wiley led Allen Central with 19 points. Wiley was the only Allen Central scorer to reach double figures. Devon Horn scored eight points, Mason Nelson and Cameron Hamilton netted six apiece and Brett Sammons chipped in two for the Rebels.
Lawrence County had defeated Allen Central 72-41 when the two teams met earlier in the season during the 15th Region All “A” Classic.
