After a long battle with cancer, Anna Lee Harmon-Cheney was received into the presence of her Heavenly Father on Jan. 1, 2013, where she joined her parents, Lucy (Whitaker) and Henry J. Hackworth; her first husband, Clyde Patrick Harmon; her second husband, William Junior Cheney; and her sons, Billy Patrick and Randy Harmon.
Anna has truly been a blessing and will be greatly missed by her daughter-in-law, Sandra Harmon.
Surviving siblings include Russell Hackworth, of Endicott, Henry Hackworth and Okie Shell, of Prestonsburg, William Hackworth, of Green Springs, Ohio, and Doris Kraus, of Findlay, Ohio. Her granddaughter, Katie Adkins, of Prestonsburg, and great-grandson, Christopher Gray, of Lexington, also survive her.
Anna grew up on Abbott Creek in Prestonsburg. She attended school in Bonanza. After Anna’s first husband passed away, she moved to Findlay, Ohio, where she worked for Bell Metal Container Group as Stores Keeper, retiring in 1992. She attended Trinity Baptist Church in Findlay. Anna loved going to auctions, estate sales and antique shows.
Sincere thanks to the staff of Riverview Health Care Center, Dr. Burchett and Dr. Leslie for their compassion and care over the last several years.
Interment will be at the Hackworth Whitaker family cemetery on Abbott Creek, beside her recently departed son, Randy. There will be a private graveside service.
