EASTERN - Eleven different Allen Central players scored on Saturday as the Rebels defeated visiting Piarist School 63-35 at J.E. Campbell Arena.
Junior guard Jarred Hamilton led Allen Central with a game-high 15 points. Hamilton was the only Allen Central scorer to reach double figures. Cameron Hamilton finished one shot short of double figures, chipping in eight points for the Rebels.
Mason Nelson and Blake Spears added seven points apiece for the Rebels.
Allen Central was 28-of-65 from the field. The Rebels connected on five-of-19 3-point field goal attempts.
Allen Central had limited appearances at the free throw line, finishing two-for-six.
The Rebels didn’t waste any time moving out in front. Allen Central secured a double digit lead in the opening quarter, outscoring Piarist 19-5. The second quarter, however, proved to be too much for the Knights to overcome. Allen Central used a 23-0 run in the second quarter to put the game out of Piarist’s reach.
Other scorers for Allen Central were Dillon Lawson (six points), Josh Wiley (six points), Devan Horn (four points), Junior Handshoe (four points), Brett Sammons (two points), Seth Hall (two points) and Cameron Blevins (two points).
Wiley led Allen Central on the boards, grabbing nine rebounds.
Allen Central outrebounded Piarist 35-32.
Tyler Stumbo led Piarist with 12 points. John Gullett joined Stumbo in double figures with 10 points.
Piarist was held to 31 percent shooting (18-of-56) from the field. The Knights were only three-of-21 from beyond the arc.
Subhash Gutti tossed in five points while Galvin Greene and Michael Williams added four each for the Knights.
Williams grabbed nine rebounds for the Piarist boys’ basketball team.
Piarist managed to outscore Allen Central 30-21 in the second half.
Allen Central is scheduled to visit Piarist Jan. 11.
