Ruth Slone Martin, age 81 of Eastern, wife of Theodore Wallace “Pete” Martin, passed away Saturday, Nov. 24, 2012, at her residence.
She was born May 5, 1931, at Alpharetta, the daughter of the late Emory and Julia Bailey Slone. She was a homemaker, a member of the Graceway United Methodist Church and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
In addition to her husband, Ruth is survived by a son, Thomas Alan (Pam) Martin, of Eastern; two brothers, Glenn Slone, of Martin, and Jack Slone, of Martin; two sisters, Ruby Halbert, of Langley, and Emogene Patton, of Hueysville; two grandchildren, Crystal Martin (Charlie) Baker and Joshua Alan (Alesia) Martin; and one great grandchild Matthew Alan Johnson.
Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Clarence Slone; and a sister Molly Murray.
Funeral services for Ruth Slone Martin were held Tuesday, Nov. 27, in the Hall Funeral Home Chapel, in Martin, with Roy Harlow officiating. Burial followed in the Pete Martin Cemetery, at Eastern.
