Lucy Ella Morrison McGuire Hunter, 89, of Prestonsburg, KY. died Saturday November 10, 2012 at Riverview Health Care. She was born October 28, 1923 in Lancer, KY to the late James and Rosie Setser Morrison. She was the wife of both the late John E. McGuire and the late Woodrow Hunter. Lucy was a Dairy Manager for Food City and Piggly Wiggly and member of Highland Avenue Freewill Baptist Church.


She was preceded in death by her Brothers & Sisters: Shirley Morrison, Jack Morrison, Woodrow Morrison, Ruben Morrison, Wilson Morrison, Amie Burke & Mary M. Rose.


She is survived by her step sons: Arley (Dolly) Hunter, Donald (Robin) Hunter & Gordan (Jean) Hunter; Step Daughters: Wanda (Bill) Conn, Helen (Larry) Samons, & Roberta (Elige) Thompson; Special Niece: Ruby Ousley6 Step Grandchildren & 5 Step Great Grandchildren & A Host Of Nieces and Nephews.


Funeral services were held Monday, November 12, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Nelson Frazier Funeral Home, in Martin, KY, with David Garrett officiating. Burial followed the service at Richmond Cemetery in Prestonsburg.

Deborah Bentley Amburgey “Ann”, 61, of Printer, KY, died Thursday November 8, 2012 at Ohio State University. She was born February 14, 1950 to the late William Russell Meade and Mary Margret Cooley Conn. Deborah was a retired case manager for Kentucky River Rehab Center and member of Drift Pentecostal Church. She was the wife of Terry Bentley, and her second husband James Amburgey.


She was preceded in death by one brother: Delbert Meade.


She is survived by her daughters: Terri Bentley (Mike) LeBrun, Tamara Bentley (Mike) Maynard, Tarina Bentley (Patrick) Wills & Trenda Bentley (Greg) Hall; Daughter at Heart: Anna Bowman; Grandchildren: Colton Wills, Shealynn Hall, Brennan Sarpas, Rheagan Wills, MaKayla Maynard, Cameron Hall, Mika Maynard, Jordyn Hall & Gregory Hall; Sisters: Charolette Keathley, Vella Jo Levy & Cathy Kidd; Brothers: Brian Conn.


Funeral services will be held Wednesday November 14, 2012, at 1 p.m. at Nelson Frazier Funeral Home, in Martin, KY, with Ted Shannon officiating. Burial will follow the service at Osborne Family Cemetery in Eastern.

William McKinney


William McKinney, 53, of Wayland, KY, died Monday November 12, 2012 at Greg & Norine Hospice Center in Hazard. He was born February 11, 1959 in Pike Co. KY to the late Henry Melvin and Elizabeth Jones McKinney. He is the husband of Mary Jones McKinney.


William was a disabled Self Employed Contractor and a member of the Wayland Methodist Church.


He was preceded in death by one brother: Roger Bentley; three sisters: Christine Hall, Judy Collins and Lydia Dingus.


He is survived by one son: Billy Poston of Wayland, KY; three daughters: Dorothy Vanderpool and Crystal Hall both of Wayland, KY and Jessica Ratliff of Prestonsburg, KY; one brother: Randy McKinney of Wheelwright, KY; two sisters: Teresa Webster of Prestonsburg, KY and Dorothy Delong of Sunbury, OH and 14 grandchildren.


Funeral services will be held Thursday November 15, 2012 1:00 p.m. at Martin Br. Freewill Baptist Church, in Wayland with Carl Watkins and others officiating.


Burial will follow the service at Justice Cemetery in Harold.

Miranda Sue Newsome, 32, of Teaberry, KY died Wednesday November 7, 2012. She was born June 30, 1980 to Randy and Peggy Sue Hamitlon Carroll. She was a homemaker.


She is survived by one son: Dalton Newsome of Teaberry, KY; one daughter: Kacy Newsome of Teaberry, KY; one sister: Kimberly Carroll of Teaberry, KY; companion: Anthony “June Bug” Newsome and a niece/nephew on the way.


Funeral services were held Tuesday, November 13, 2012 1 p.m. at Pilgrims Home Old Regular Baptist Church, in Teaberry, KY. Burial followed the service at Hamilton Cemetery in Teaberry.

Ralph Lee Crager, 77, of Hueysville, KY, died Thursday November 8, 2012 at Hazard ARH. He was born February 25, 1935 to the late Kendal and Dovie Shepherd Crager. Ralph worked as a Meter Reader of KY WV Gas Co., a member of the Martin Br. Freewill Baptist Church and a member of the Masonic Lodge #869, Wayland, KY.


He was preceded in death by his brothers & sisters: Haden Crager, Homer Crager, Hawley Crager, Luther Crager, Herman Crager, Sarah Hicks, Eliza Handshoe, Laura Allen, Alice Ousley, Sylvia Warrix, Pearlie Compton & Ollie Mae Crager.


He is survived by two daughters: Regina Gearheart of Martin, KY and Michelle Whitaker of Hueysville, KY; one sister: Gracie Neeley of IN; special niece: Gladys Bailey of Hueysville, KY and six grandchildren: Erika, Ashely, Dalton, Whitney, Jerermy and Savannah.


Funeral services were held Sunday November 11, 2012, 1 p.m. at Nelson Frazier Funeral Home, in Martin, KY. Burial followed the service at Shepherd Cemetery in Hueysville.

William Kirk “Twinkie” Salisbury


William Kirk “Twinkie” Salisbury, age 32 of Langley, KY, passed away Thursday, November 8, 2012 at the Cabell-Huntington Hospital, Huntington, WV, from injuries sustained in an auto accident. He was born July 27, 1980 in Prestonsburg, KY, the son of Bill and Linda Richmond Salisbury. He was a former commercial truck driver and member of the Fitzpatrick Baptist Church.


In addition to his parents, William is survived by his fiancée, Amanda Tackett of Oil Springs, KY, and his twin brother, Jonathan (Stephanie) Salisbury of Prestonsburg, KY.


Funeral services for William Kirk “Twinkie” Salisbury will be held Sunday, November 11, 2012 at 1:30 p.m. in the Hall Funeral Home Chapel, Martin, KY with Tommy Reed officiating. Burial will follow in the Johnson Cemetery, Hueysville, KY. Visitation will be held from 5:00 until 9:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Keilan William Woods, 3 1/2 months old of Tram, KY, passed away Sunday, November 11, 2012 at the Pikeville Medical Center, Pikeville, KY. He was born July 23, 2012 in Prestonsburg, KY, the son of Kyle Edwin and Crystal Gail McCown Woods.


In addition to his parents, he is survived by two brothers, Curtis Leslie and Kaden Woods of Tram, KY, and paternal grandparents, Donnie and Anita Elkins.


Keilan is preceded in death by one brother, Seth, and one sister, Kayleann, and maternal grandparents, Barbara Wright and Curtis McCown.


Funeral services for Keilan William Woods will be held Thursday, November 15, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. in the Hall Funeral Home Chapel, Martin, KY with Tim McCoy officiating. Burial will follow in the Gethsemane Gardens, Prestonsburg, KY. Visitation will be held after 6:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Vella Sloan “Judy” Garrett, 62, of Prestonsburg, KY, died Thursday November 8, 2012 at Salyersville Nursing and Rehab Center. She was born March 25, 1950, in Floyd Co. Ky to the late James Miller and Mary Allice Collins Crace. She was a disabled beautician.


She was preceded in death by two brothers: Jasper Albert Baker & John Darvin Baker and one sister:Elizabeth Crace.


She is survived by her step-father: Red Bill Crace; one son: James Sloan of Prestonsburg, KY; one daughter: Krista Garrett of Prestonsburg, KY; one sister: Margaret Prater of Prestonsburg, KY and three grandchildren: James Cameron Garrett, Destiny Nicole Taylor & Katelynn Marie Stanley.


Funeral Services were held Monday, November 12, 2012, at noon at Nelson Frazier Funeral Home in Martin, KY, with Steven Williams officiating. Burial followed the service at Little Paint Cemetery in East Point.

Clifford Hall, 50, of Melvin, died Sunday November 11, 2012 in Melvin. He was born December 14, 1961 to the late Lewis and Ama Hall. He was the fiancee of Benita Tackett Hunter.


He was preceded in death by his brothers: Raymond Hall, Arnold Hall, and Garland Hall; and sisters: Ruth Skeens, and Mable Mitchell.


He is survived by his special children: Hazel Jones, Chester Herb, Sandra Hunter, and Jeffrey Hunter; brothers: Lewis Everett Hall, Elzie Hall and Kernon Hall, all of Melvin; his sisters: Opal Younce, and Ruby Moore, both of Price, and Verna Johnson of Bypro.


Funeral services will be held November 15, 2012 12:00 noon at the Joppa Old Regular Baptist Church with Chuck Hall officiating. Burial will follow the service at Painter Hall Family Cemetery in Melvin.
