PRESTONSBURG — One of Floyd County’s tourist staples will be celebrating a half-century in business this weekend.
Jenny Wiley State Resort Park’s May Lodge will celebrate 50 years in business today and tomorrow.
A special ceremony will be held at 11 a.m., today, to mark the occasion. Tourism, Arts and Heritage Secretary Marcheta Sparrow and Kentucky State Parks Commissioner Elaine Walker is expected to be in attendance and will deliver addresses to those who show up for the event.
Officials at the park are asking for the public’s help in locating pictures of the Lodge from the 1960s. The pictures will be displayed at the Lodge during the celebration.
Also this weekend, the Lodge will host “Buffalo Night” in its dining room, featuring several dishes made from buffalo, as well as fried chicken, catfish and several breads, vegetables and desserts. Cost of the dinner is $17.96 for adults and $6.96 for children under 12,
