Virgie Parsons Hall, age 85 of Thelma, passed away Thursday, Sept. 27, 2012, at Highlands Regional Medical Center, in Prestonsburg.
She was born Sept. 1, 1927, in Blue Moon, the daughter of the late Sidney and Gertrude Kidd Parsons. She was a homemaker and member of the Prestonsburg Church of Christ.
Virgie is survived by a son, Stanley (Sharon Kaye) Niece, of Harold; two daughters, Linda Lyon, of Thelma, and Henrietta (James “Bud”) Orsborn, of Auxier; two step-sons, Cledas Hall, of Clyde, Ohio, and Charles Hall, of Wellington; two step-daughters, Brenda Hall and Catherine Baker, both of Harold; two sisters, Doris Tackett, of Alger, Ohio, and Florida Tackett, of Lexington; a brother, Millard Parsons, of Harold; nine grandchildren; 16 step-grandchildren; and a host of great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Virgie was preceded in death by her first husband, Willard Niece; second husband, Stallard Hall; two sons, Russell Niece and Phillip Dale Niece; a sister, Loraine Skeans; and three brothers, Lester Parsons, Estill “Buster” Parsons and Phillip Parsons.
Funeral services for Virgie Parsons Hall were held Sunday, Sept. 30, at the Prestonsburg Church of Christ, in Prestonsburg, with Rick Kelley and Vernon Hall officiating. Burial followed in the Bush Cemetery, at Harold.
Hall Funeral Home, of Martin, was in charge of arrangements.
