HI HAT - The Prestonsburg C-Team rushed its way past Wesley Christian on Saturday, winning 24-0 at South Floyd.
Prestonsburg dominated en route to the win. The Prestonsburg offense totaled over 200 yards rushing in the Floyd County matchup. Defensively, Prestonsburg only surrendered around 25 total yards.
On the second play from scrimmage, Prestonsburg halfback/quarterback Carson Poe scampered for a 62-yard touchdown. Adam Blair then added the two-point conversion to put the Blackcats up 8-0.
Wesley would take the field for their first series on offense but the Blackcat defensive unit would prove it was ready. Following back-to-back sacks from Owen Greene and Colby Fugate, Nate Marsillett would come up and stop the third down play, forcing a punt.
On the Blackcats’ second series, Carter Akers delivered a 10-yard run to set up a first-and-10 on the 50-yard line. Fugate would take the handoff and race 50 yards for the score. Luke Hyden then added the two-point conversion put the Blackcats up 16-0.
Following another sack, Wesley fumbled the ball, setting up a Nick Garett 22-yard touchdown run for the Blackcats. Akers would tack on the two-point conversion to push the lead out to 24-0 at the half.
All Prestonsburg players saw action in the convincing win.
With the win, Prestonsburg moved to 2-0 in Floyd County and 4-0 overall..
