CAMPTON — Motorists traveling the Mountain Parkway during the next month can expect some delays, as workers tackle a bridge-repair project.
A bridge crossing Route 191 at Exit 46, just east of the four-lane section of the highway, will be reduced to one lane during the project, which began Monday. A temporary traffic signal alternates traffic across the bridge.
During the project, the bridge will be restricted to vehicles less than 13 feet wide. Wider vehicles can detour through Campton, along Routes 191 and 15, between exits 43 and 46.
The state Department of Highways estimates the work will take four weeks.
Drivers should slow down as they approach this construction zone, watch for stopped traffic and obey the temporary traffic signal. Motorists are asked to “Drive Smart” in this and all other work zones and be aware of workers, traffic control devices and construction equipment when traveling in this and other areas where projects are ongoing.
